(On 24 July 2025, senior representatives from the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation and the Office of Atoms for Peace (OAP) attended the opening ceremony of the “Ramathibodi – IAEA Rays of Hope Anchor Centre” at the Faculty of Medicine Ramathibodi Hospital, Mahidol University. The event was also joined by executives from Mahidol University and the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).
The centre is a collaborative initiative between the IAEA and the Faculty of Medicine Ramathibodi Hospital. Its aim is to serve as a regional model in radiation therapy and nuclear medicine, providing clinical knowledge transfer, technical training in cancer treatment using radiation, and capacity-building for medical personnel across Southeast Asia, including countries such as Myanmar and Indonesia. The Faculty has long been engaged in the IAEA’s Technical Cooperation Programme, with the OAP serving as the primary national coordinator.
