OAP–TINT Workshop to Finalize Thailand’s Radioactive Waste Management Policy

Office of Atoms for Peace (OAP) under the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation held a workshop on September 17–19, 2025 at the Royal Hills Golf Resort & Spa in Nakhon Nayok to review and revise the draft National Policy on Radioactive Waste and Spent Nuclear Fuel Management.

The session gathered 16 participants from OAP and the Thailand Institute of Nuclear Technology (TINT) to consolidate feedback, finalize the draft on schedule, and prepare it for submission to the national Working Group on Radioactive Waste and NORM regulation.

Earlier, the Asian Nuclear Safety Network (ANSN) provided expert input during February 24–28, 2025 at OAP and TINT, offering regional support.

Ongoing revisions underscore OAP’s commitment to establishing robust, safe, and standards-compliant waste management, advancing the policy toward official adoption to protect the public and environment and build domestic and international confidence.
