OAP SG to visit a radiation monitoring station in Phayao University

         On March 18, 2024, Assoc. Prof. Pasit Lorterapong, OAP Secretary General, paid a visit to one of OAP’s radiation monitoring stations in Phayao University. The visit was accompanied by the head of OAP Provincial Center and Assoc. Prof. Sittisak Pinmonkol, Dean of Faculty of Science, Phayao University. The latter was responsible for a daily operation of the station.
         After a visit, there was a meeting among relevant personnel to discuss matters and possible activities under MOU on station management between OAP and Phayao University which has been effective since its signing on April 25, 2011.

OAP has worked with the Faculty of Science, Phayao University which is one of examples of scientific collaborations in the northern part of Thailand. The university has operated a radiation monitoring station for OAP since 2011. In addition to this radiation monitoring station, OAP and the Faculty of Science have collaborated in research and development relating to nuclear and radiation regulatory functions, including radiation safety verifications on local products and tourist attractions that might contain naturally occurring radioactive materials (NORM) and human resource development on nuclear and radiation technology.
