The workshop welcomes 35 participants from 13 Asia countries: Bangladesh, Cambodia, China, Indonesia, Lao, Malaysia, Mongolia, Myanmar, Nepal, Pakistan, Palau, Sri Lanka and Thailand, and experts from IAEA. The workshop relates to the content of IAEA Safety standards and technical guidance on Emergency Preparedness and Response (EPR) and hazard assessment and provides a platform for discussion on the concept of operations when responding to emergencies which allows each member state to exchange their current EPR arrangements and planned future cooperative activities with others.

The workshop is in line with IAEA’s determination to assist the member states in developing their radiation emergency plan that is not only applicable to their national emergency practice and but also integrated the functions of countries’ relevant organizations.
