On July 14, 2025, OAP welcomed a delegation from Malaysia’s Department of Atomic Energy during an official visit to Thailand. The purpose of the visit, held from July 14–15, was to discuss bilateral cooperation in the field of nuclear energy.
The meeting aimed to strengthen collaboration in several key areas, including nuclear forensics, regulation of potentially contaminated scrap metal, and information exchange between Nuclear Security Training and Support Centres (NSSC). The Malaysian delegation also toured key laboratories and emergency response centers to share best practices and technical knowledge.
This engagement marks a significant step toward reinforcing mutual cooperation and building trust between the two nations, contributing to stronger and more sustainable nuclear security in the ASEAN region in response to evolving global challenges.
