On July 29, 2025, the Office of Atoms for Peace (OAP) organized a training course on “Fundamentals of Neutron Radiation Measurement to Enhance Nuclear and Radiation Safety Regulatory Capacity” at its headquarters. The training aimed to strengthen personnel understanding of neutron radiation characteristics, which require distinct measurement techniques compared to other types of radiation. It covered various neutron detection instruments, radiation dose assessments using Monte Carlo simulations, and practical case studies.
The session was attended by 40 officials and staff members and featured expert lecturers from academic institutions with specialized knowledge in neutron measurement systems. The training served as a key initiative to build technical capacity in support of safe and effective nuclear and radiation regulation, preparing personnel to adapt to future technological and situational changes.
