On 14 August 2025, the Office of Atoms for Peace (OAP) presented the OAP Award at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center to 53 organizations excelling in nuclear and radiation safety, as part of a key national strategy under the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation (MHESI). Awards were given in four categories:
Radiation-generating devices – Excellent: 25 awards
Radiation-generating devices – Outstanding: 9 awards
Radioactive materials – Excellent: 9 awards
Radioactive materials – Outstanding: 10 awards
Minister Supawann Wangsupakitkosol assigned Wichian Suksroi, the Minister’s Secretary, to preside over the ceremony. The award aims to honor compliance with the highest safety standards, promote a strong safety and security culture, and encourage continuous improvement across sectors including healthcare, industry, agriculture, research, and national security. OAP emphasized that maintaining top safety standards protects workers, the public, and the environment, while supporting sustainable economic and social development.
