OAP, MHESI Joins Forces with Royal Thai Navy to Strengthen Preparedness for Chemical and Hazardous Material Incidents and Radiological Emergencies

The Office of Atoms for Peace (OAP), Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation (MHESI), through its Nuclear and Radiological Emergency Operations Center, received policy guidance from Dr. Rungrueng Kitphati, Secretary General of OAP, on preparedness and integrated operations with relevant agencies. In line with this guidance, the Center participated in the 2026 Chemical and Hazardous Material Disaster Mitigation Exercise, held from 19–21 August 2026 at Abhakorn Kiartivongse Hospital and the Royal Thai Navy Ordnance Disposal Range, Naval Ordnance Department, Sattahip District, Chon Buri Province. The exercise was presided over by Rear Admiral Wachirawit Khaokhom, Director-General of the Naval Research Department, and was attended by personnel and representatives from relevant agencies, including the Naval Research Department, Naval Ordnance Department, and Naval Medical Department.
