Dr. Rungrueng Kitphati, Secretary General of the Office of Atoms for Peace (OAP), Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation (MHESI), in his capacity as the chief executive of OAP, places strong emphasis on strengthening Thailand’s regulatory system for radiation protection and safety to ensure its effectiveness and alignment with international standards. In this regard, OAP organized a workshop to develop an Action Plan for enhancing the national regulatory framework for radiation protection and safety, based on the recommendations from the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA)’s Occupational Radiation Protection Appraisal Service (ORPAS) Mission to Thailand. The workshop was held from 24–26 August 2026 at Health Land Resort & Spa Pattaya, Chon Buri Province.
