On September 10, 2026, the Office of Atoms for Peace (OAP), Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation (MHESI), welcomed 15 students from the Department of Applied Radiation and Isotopes, Faculty of Science, Kasetsart University, for a study visit and practical training at the Environmental Radioactivity Monitoring Group Laboratory, OAP 60th Anniversary Building. The activity focused on “Water and Air Sample Collection and Preparation for Environmental Radon–Thoron Analysis” and aimed to strengthen the students’ knowledge and practical experience in environmental radioactivity measurement through hands-on learning. During the activity, the students learned about procedures for collecting and preparing water and air samples for radon and thoron analysis. They also gained hands-on laboratory experience and exchanged knowledge with OAP personnel. The activity provided an opportunity to connect theoretical knowledge with practical applications while supporting the development of human resources in nuclear science and radiation. It also promoted awareness of the importance of environmental radioactivity monitoring in support of the safe use of nuclear and radiation technologies for the benefit of the public and the environment.
