Dr. Rungrueng Kitphati, Director-General of the Department of Science Service and Acting Secretary-General of the Office of Atoms for Peace (OAP), Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation (MHESI), assigned Mr. Panupong Pingish, Director of Nuclear and Radiation Inspection Division, to preside over the opening ceremony of the Training and Exercise Program on Nuclear and Radiological Emergency Response for Regional Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Officers, held from 18–21 May 2026 at VELA Dhi Udon Thani Hotel, Udon Thani Province. The program was organized to enhance preparedness for nuclear and radiological emergencies and strengthen the knowledge, skills, and operational capabilities of regional officers responsible for disaster prevention and mitigation. Through both theoretical and practical training exercises, participants were equipped to respond to nuclear and radiological emergency situations accurately, efficiently, and in a timely manner. The initiative is expected to reinforce national preparedness and response capabilities while fostering public confidence in nuclear and radiological safety, thereby contributing to the safety and well-being of society.
