Dr. Rungrueng Kitphati, Secretary General of the Office of Atoms for Peace (OAP), Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation (MHESI) stated that Nuclear Safeguards are a fundamental mechanism for assuring the international community that Thailand’s peaceful uses of nuclear energy are conducted in a transparent, accountable, and internationally compliant manner. Strengthening knowledge and understanding among higher education institutions, which play a vital role in nuclear science research and the application of nuclear and radiation technologies, is therefore essential to reinforcing the country’s regulatory framework in line with Thailand’s international obligations and the safeguards standards of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).
