OAP, MHESI Strengthens Nuclear and Radiation Regulation, Joining Nine Partner Networks to Establish TRADOS for Public Safety and SMR Regulatory Readiness

The Office of Atoms for Peace (OAP), Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation (MHESI), is advancing the proactive policy agenda of Professor Dr. Yodchanan Wongsawat, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation, which emphasizes the use of science, technology, and innovation as key drivers for national development and solutions to critical challenges. In support of this policy direction, OAP has joined forces with nine partner organizations from the public sector, hospitals, academic institutions, and the private sector to establish the Thailand Radiation Dosimetry Network (TRADOS), a national network for radiation dosimetry. The initiative aims to strengthen Thailand’s capabilities in accurate radiation measurement and national radiation dose assessment, helping protect the public and professionals working in the medical, energy, and industrial sectors. It also serves as a proactive measure to strengthen regulatory preparedness for the safe deployment of Small Modular Reactor (SMR) technology, supporting the peaceful applications of nuclear energy both now and in the future.
