On June 9, 2026, Dr. Rungrueng Kitphati, Secretary General of the Office of Atoms for Peace (OAP), Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation (MHESI), together with OAP executives and officials, welcomed Associate Professor Dr. Saroj Rujirawat, Director of the Synchrotron Light Research Institute (Public Organization) (SLRI), and his delegation for discussions on the regulatory oversight of high-energy particle accelerator technology. The meeting was held in the Alpha Conference Room, 4th Floor, OAP 60th Anniversary Building, and provided an opportunity for both organizations to exchange information and discuss regulatory preparedness in support of advanced technologies that play a vital role in research, medicine, industry, and innovation. The discussions also aimed to strengthen collaboration and ensure the readiness of the regulatory framework to accommodate future developments in high-energy particle accelerator technologies, which are increasingly important to Thailand’s scientific and technological advancement.
