Dr. Rungrueng Kitphati, Secretary General of the Office of Atoms for Peace (OAP), Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation (MHESI), stated that Nuclear Safeguards serve as a key mechanism demonstrating a country’s transparency and accountability in the peaceful use of nuclear energy.
To promote a better understanding of Nuclear Safeguards, OAP organized the third workshop under the “Nuclear Safeguards Awareness and Capacity-Building Program 2026” for higher education institutions in Northeastern Thailand on 12 June 2026 at Avani Khon Kaen Hotel & Convention Centre, Khon Kaen Province. The workshop brought together participants from seven higher education institutions, namely Khon Kaen University, Rajamangala University of Technology Isan, Suranaree University of Technology, Mahasarakham University, Chaiyaphum Rajabhat University, Roi Et Rajabhat University, and Maha Sarakham Rajabhat University.
