The Office of Atoms for Peace (OAP), Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation (MHESI), led by Ms. Tanawan Chamsuwan, Expert on Administration Development and Director of the Eastern Regional Office, conducted an official visit to Rayong Province during 18–19 June 2026. The visit aimed to introduce OAP’s roles, responsibilities, and operational framework, while strengthening cooperation on nuclear and radiation safety with key organizations in the region.
The delegation held discussions with representatives of the following organizations:
- Mr. Surin Saengthong, Chief Administrator of the Rayong Provincial Administrative Organization
- Dr. Wut Dankittikul, Executive Vice President, Eastern Economic Corridor of Innovation: EECi
Acting Vice President,Eastern Economic Corridor of Innovation: EECi
- Mr. Narin Chenchirawatthana, Deputy Mayor of Rayong City Municipality
- Ms. Juraisri Chaisri, Assistant Director of the Map Ta Phut Industrial Estate
The discussions focused on enhancing inter-agency collaboration in nuclear and radiological emergency preparedness and response, strengthening the capacity of local first responders, promoting public awareness and understanding of nuclear and radiation technologies among communities, youth, and educational institutions, and reinforcing radiation safety surveillance across industrial facilities and the environment.
