On July 15, 2026, Professor Dr. Yodchanan Wongsawat, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation, together with Professor Supachai Pathumnakul, Ph.D., Permanent Secretary of MHESI, and Dr. Rungrueng Kitphati, Secretary General of the Office of Atoms for Peace (OAP), held a bilateral meeting with Dr. Robert Floyd, Executive Secretary of the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty Organization (CTBTO). The meeting focused on advancing Thailand’s role as a regional hub for disaster early warning data and on the establishment of a CTBTO Regional Training Centre for Asia and the Pacific. Representatives from both sides and relevant stakeholders also attended the meeting, which was held at Dusit Thani Bangkok.
