On July 21, 2026, The Office of Atoms for Peace (OAP), Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation (MHESI), organized a regional workshop entitled “Regional Public Health Preparedness for Nuclear and Radiological Emergencies” on 21–22 July 2026 at the Laguna Grand Hotel & Spa in Songkhla Province. The workshop was officially opened by Ms. Tanawan Chamsuwan, Director of Office of Atoms for Peace Eastern Region and Expert on Administration Development. Participants were also welcomed by Dr. Chalermpol Osotpromma, the Director of the Office of Disease Prevention and Control, Region 12 Songkhla, The two-day programme aims to strengthen the capabilities of public health professionals in preparing for nuclear and radiological emergencies by enhancing their capacity to conduct surveillance, detect and assess radiological incidents, and respond swiftly, accurately, and effectively to protect public health and ensure public safety.
