OAP, MHESI Inspires Thai Youth to Explore the Energy of the Future and Discover SMR Technology at Thailand Science Fair 2026

On August 15, 2026, Dr. Rungrueng Kitphati, Secretary General of the Office of Atoms for Peace (OAP), Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation (MHESI), assigned Mr. Panupong Pingish, Director of the Nuclear and Radiation Licensing Division, together with OAP executives and officials, to attend the opening ceremony of the National Science and Technology Fair 2026 at the Main Stage, Buildings 9–11, IMPACT Exhibition and Convention Center, Muang Thong Thani, Nonthaburi Province. The ceremony was presided over by Professor Dr. Yodchanan Wongsawat, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation, with Professor Dr. Supachai Pathumnakul, Permanent Secretary of MHESI, MHESI executives, and representatives from relevant agencies in attendance. Dr. Rungrueng Kitphati said, “This year, OAP is showcasing a wide range of knowledge and technologies in nuclear science and radiation and inviting visitors to discover Small Modular Reactors (SMRs). The exhibition provides an engaging learning space for children, young people, and the public to learn about SMRs, or Small Modular Reactors, one of the energy technologies attracting growing global interest. Visitors are invited to explore what SMRs are, how they work, what safety systems they use, and why this technology is being considered as one of the energy options of the future. Through interactive exhibitions and fun, easy-to-understand activities, along with a variety of prizes, OAP invites everyone to join us from 15–23 August at IMPACT Muang Thong Thani.”
