From the Classroom to Real-World Operations: Military Science School Trainees Visit the Office of Atoms for Peace

On 5 May 2026, instructors and 60 trainees from the Army Science School visited the Office of Atoms for Peace (OAP) for an educational study tour aimed at enhancing their knowledge and practical experience in nuclear and radiation-related fields beyond the classroom.

During the visit, the participants toured the Nuclear Forensics Laboratory, the Environmental Radiation Monitoring Laboratory, and the Nuclear and Radiological Emergency Operations Center, all of which play key roles in supporting Thailand’s nuclear and radiation safety and security missions.

The study visit provided participants with insights into nuclear forensic processes used to trace and verify the origins of radioactive materials, environmental radiation monitoring and surveillance for public safety assurance, and emergency preparedness and response operations for nuclear and radiological incidents.

The program integrated both theoretical and practical knowledge to strengthen participants’ capabilities and support the effective application of nuclear and radiation expertise in national security and safety operations.
