The Office of Atoms for Peace (OAP), The Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation (MHESI), has initiated the selection process for qualified members of the National Nuclear Energy Board. Experts from five key disciplines will be recruited to contribute to policymaking and regulatory oversight in the fields of nuclear energy and radiation, with the aim of strengthening public confidence and enhancing national safety in a sustainable manner.
On June 8, 2026, OAP convened the 1st meeting of the Selection Committee for Qualified Members, chaired by Mr. Pongkrit Siripirom, Chairperson of the Selection Committee. The meeting focused on establishing a transparent and systematic framework for selecting distinguished experts to serve as qualified members of the National Nuclear Energy Board.
The committee approved the selection framework and procedures for recruiting experts from five disciplines: medicine, agriculture, law, science, and engineering. The initiative is intended to ensure the appointment of highly qualified individuals who can contribute their expertise to shaping and advancing national nuclear energy policies, while ensuring the safe and secure use of nuclear technology for the benefit of the public and the environment.
