On July 1, 2026, faculty members and graduate students from the Medical Physics Program, Department of Radiological Technology, Faculty of Allied Health Sciences, Naresuan University, visited National Institute of Nuclear and Radiation Reference Standards Laboratory (NIRRS), Office of Atoms for Peace (OAP), Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation (MHESI), for an educational study visit. The visit aimed to enhance students’ professional competencies in medical physics by providing practical exposure to radiation instrumentation, radiation measurement techniques, and the application of radiation safety technologies in real-world operations.
During the visit, the students had the opportunity to learn directly from OAP experts and gain hands-on experience with laboratory facilities and specialized equipment used for radiation measurement, calibration, and radiation safety regulation. The program enriched participants’ technical knowledge, practical skills, and professional experience in medical physics, enabling them to apply these competencies in their future studies and careers. It also provided valuable insights into OAP’s role in regulating the safe use of nuclear energy and radiation to protect public health and the environment.
