OAP Opens Laboratories to Welcome Students: Exploring Nuclear and Radiation Missions, Experiencing Real Technology, and Enhancing Knowledge for the Future

On November 4, 2026, the Office of Atoms for Peace (OAP) welcomed a delegation of 151 teachers and students from Princess Chulabhorn Science High School Satun for a study visit to learn about nuclear and radiation missions. The visit aimed to build a practical understanding of nuclear technology, radiation measurement, and the national regulatory framework for nuclear and radiation safety.

During this study visit, the teachers and students toured 5 key OAP laboratories, including:
* National Nuclear and Radiological Emergency Action Center (NuREAC)
* Personal Dosimetry Laboratory
* Biological Dosimetry Laboratory
* Gamma Reference Standard Dosimetry Laboratory
* Environmental Radioactivity Measurement Laboratory
This activity provided an out-of-classroom learning experience, allowing students to engage with real technology and operations while observing the application of scientific knowledge in missions related to public safety. Furthermore, it served to inspire further education and the development of potential in science and technology, acting as a crucial foundation for the future development of the nation’s workforce.
