On May 20, 2026, Dr. Rungrueng Kitphati, Director-General of the Department of Science Service and Acting Secretary-General of the Office of Atoms for Peace (OAP), participated in the “Advanced Food Irradiation Entrepreneur Incubation Program for Sustainable Technology Transfer 2026,” organized by the Thailand Institute of Nuclear Technology (Public Organization) in collaboration with the National Food Institute. The program aims to enhance the capabilities of a new generation of food irradiation entrepreneurs and support the commercialization of innovative food technologies in global markets. The event was held at the Press Conference Room, the King Mongkut Building, 1st Floor, Office of the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation (MHESI). The opening ceremony was presided over by Professor Dr. Yodchanan Wongsawat, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation, who also delivered a special keynote address entitled “Building Thai FoodTech: From Practical Innovation to Global Market Success.” In his remarks, Professor Dr. Yodchanan emphasized that the advancement of Thailand’s FoodTech sector requires the integration of science, research, and innovation, alongside the preservation of the quality, standards, and unique identity of Thai food. Such efforts are essential for creating added economic value and strengthening the country’s global competitiveness.
