The Office of Atoms for Peace (OAP), Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation (MHESI), is advancing efforts to strengthen Thailand’s nuclear technology capabilities in response to emerging future energy trends. On 7 August 2026, OAP held discussions with the Program Management Unit for Competitiveness (PMUC) to lay the groundwork for Thailand’s readiness for Small Modular Reactor (SMR) technology across technology development, research and innovation, and human resource development. The collaboration aims to strengthen the country’s energy security and support Thailand’s sustainable national development goals.
