The Office of Atoms for Peace (OAP), under the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation, participated in the national-level crisis management exercise CMEX-25, held from June 25–27, 2025, at the Orange Line (OR14) MRT station on Rama IX Road in Bangkok. The drill, focused on responding to threats in rear areas, was organized by the International Counter-Terrorism Operations Center.
Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra presided over the closing ceremony, commending the participating agencies and emphasizing the importance of national security collaboration.
Dr. Roongruang Kitpati, Acting Secretary-General of OAP, supported the involvement of OAP specialists as both players and controllers to enhance emergency response capabilities in nuclear and radiological incidents. OAP’s active role demonstrates its commitment to strengthening national readiness through personnel, knowledge, technology, and inter-agency cooperation, ensuring sustainable protection for the public and environment from nuclear and radiological threats.
